George Mihalas is a Professor of medical informatics at Victor Babes University of Medcine and Pharmacy, Timisoara

George Mihalas, founder of medical informatics education in Romania, professor at University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timisoara is member of the Romanian Academy of Medical Sciences.

Prof. Mihalas was appointed as CEO of the National Center for Health Information and Statistics of the Ministry of Health in Romania (2001), served as EFMI President (2006-2008) and as IMIA VP for EFMI (2008-2010). He is Fellow of EFMI and vice-chair of IMIA History WG.
